Drama School Entry Coaching

This service involves 1-1 coaching and consulting for prospective acting students to help them enter drama school. For those living abroad, it will begin via Skype and then in the final stages provide further detailed support in-person when students visit the UK for auditions. This service can include any of the following:

• Selecting the right monologues (Contemporary and Shakespeare) according to type, embracing diversity of character construction.

• Work on Shakespeare text including understanding, rhythm and pronunciation which all can be barriers for those unfamiliar with classical texts.

• Work on performing of the pieces in a constructive and appealing way targeting a UK acting style for drama school acting.

• Improvisation work to improve flexibility of the actor within their monologues so they can adapt to the audition panel’s needs.

• Help with interview techniques in order to create a positive impression at an audition. Consulting service for IELTS preparation and application processes.

• Provide Accent training for non-native English speakers in cooperation with native speakers who specialise in vocal coaching.

• Give realistic advice on which drama schools suit their needs.
